The pastor and members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Pillar of Fire, located at L.A. primary school area of Akure, Ondo State were physically assaulted when hoodlums attacked the church, Leadership reports.
Members were said to have scampered for safety while the assailants continued the invasion, destroying some other items inside the church which include, plastic chairs, wall clock, window glass and electrical appliances among others in the process.
A police officer was stabbed with a broken bottle by the hoodlums who were trying to resist arrest from the police called upon to calm the situation.
Police Public Relations Officer, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the incident, but said details of the incident was still sketchy since the incident happened over the weekend.
