Court stops PDP from dissolving Oyo Exco

Abuja -  A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has stopped the moves by some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State seeking the dissolution of the party executive, reports from Leadership.

Some supporters of former Governor Adebayo Alao Akala had petitioned the national chairman of the party, Adamu Mu’azu seeking the dissolution of the executive of the state on grounds that they are not living up to expectation.

Following the request for the dissolution,  the vice chairman of the state Exco,  Solomon Oluwole Ogunjimi, approached the court seeking an order stopping the party and the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) from the dissolving the executive council which was duly elected.

In granting the order, the court also restrained the defendants from recognizing any group other than the state executive committee
