Nigeria Church Under Attack | @obioraobiwon

I'm not the most qualified to speak about this; I just want to share my heart, what I see and what I sense. The Church in Nigeria is under attack. This is probably not news to the Church in northern Nigeria. They have been #persecuted for so long and really in the south it's been mostly

"business as usual". This year however has been truly special for all. Just under 7 months there's been various attacks and killings of #worshippers and #priests and in the south slandering and assault like never before.

Music #ministers haven't been spared. In the past couple of months many (including yours truly) were attacked by strange illnesses, robbers, road and freak accidents. To the #glory of God we all pulled through by His mighty hand! I just got off the phone with a music minister who survived gunshot attacks by the so called herdsmen. Four bullets were removed from his body and he miraculously survived all bones and organs complete. Thanks be to God who causes us to triumph in #Christ #Jesus!

Despite all the darkness, I'm writing to celebrate the #light that is bursting forth - Our God commands the light to shine out of the darkness! [2 Cor. 4:6]

In the history of the Church, two things I know happen when she is persecuted:

1. Unity.

2. Great Expansion. 

In the past few weeks I've seen folks put aside personal agenda and denominationalism to ask, care for, pray for, support and stand for one another like never before! If we continue like this forging closer in unity, "nothing that they (we) set out to do will be impossible for them (us)!" [Gen. 8:6]. I also want to use this opportunity to say that on the premise of our standing together, I am convinced that ELO IS COMING HOME! LEAH SHARIBU IS COMING HOME! HALLELUYAH!

Are you praying for the Church? Or just for yourself? Please begin to pray and act with a Kingdom Mindset.

In Acts 8, a great persecution arose against the Church but guess what, it only caused a great expansion; those who were scattered preached the #Word everywhere they went!

To the attackers of the Church spiritual and physical I just want to announce:

THE CHURCH IS MARCHING ON!!!

THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT!!! [Matt 16:18]
