NEWS: Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher Welcomes a new baby Boy | @mikefisher1212 @carrieunderwood

Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher are celebrating the arrival of their first child, a son, and thanking God for the "amazing gift" on Tuesday.

Isaiah Michael Fisher was born on Friday, Feb. 27, and Underwood shared the happy news on social media along with a photo of the child.

"Tiny hands and tiny feet … God has blessed us with an amazing gift," the singer wrote in the caption. "Isaiah Michael Fisher – born February 27."

The announcement accumulated over 600,000 likes in just two hours on Facebook with comments and congratulations from well-wishers pouring in for the new parents. It is believed that Isaiah Michael was born in Nashville, Tennessee, where Underwood and Fisher have a permanent residence. The child's name, which is found in the Bible, reflects Underwood's Christian faith.

"Faith plays a huge role ... it was an instant connection, we both grew up in Christian families," Fisher said while on Oprah Winfrey's "Next Chapter" last year. "It's a big part of our marriage."

The baby's arrival occurred just weeks after Underwood missed the Grammy Awards due to her pregnancy.

"I wish I could go to the Grammy's, but travel is kind of out for me at this point," the singer told E! News in early February of the awards, which took place on Feb. 8. "It's tempting, but I can't fly that far away this late in my pregnancy. I'll be in my pajamas watching it from the comfort of my couch."

The travel restrictions were not the only careful consideration Underwood made ahead of the arrival of her first child; the "Something in the Water" singer admitted she would only sing "good" songs to her unborn baby.

"I feel like I have to sing good all the time," Underwood said while on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon." "Like, if I'm just in my car driving, I feel like I have to make it good because he's listening. He's always in there!"
